Request and on-shelf request

Request a book that is charged out:

1. Look up the book you wish to request and click the title to view availability information.
2. Log into Oula-Finna.
3. Click “Place a Title Level Request”. The button appears above the availability information when all copies of the title that are available for home loan are charged out.
4. Select a collection location and click “Submit Request”.
5. You will be notified by e-mail when the book is available for pickup. The message will also tell you by which date you must collect the requested book.

On-shelf request and order for books only available for reading room/researcher loans.
- If you wish to order a course textbook to another library unit, please contact the library. Delivering books to another library unit will normally take 1-5 working days.

1. Look up a book that is available for borrowing and click its title to view availability information.
2. Log into Oula-Finna.
3. Click the little black triangle in front of the item. The “place an on-shelf request” button will appear (only when a request can be placed on the item).
- If the number of the journal issue you are looking for is not in the list of issues, please contact the library.
4. Select a collection location and click “Place request”.
5. You will be notified by e-mail when the request has been processed and book is available for pickup. The message will also tell you by which date you must collect the requested book.
6. Please note that the book will be reserved for you only after you have received the e-mail notification.

N.B. Items borrowed for reading room use from the closed stacks in Pegasus Library can only be used and stored in Pegasus Library. University of Oulu staff may take items on research loan to their own offices.
