The subject for my thesis I got from my internship in Oulu municipal library. The website created as a result of my thesis is part of larger project. Pentti Haanpää project is a part of Finland 100anniversary program. There were two teams working on the Pentti Haanpää project, The Oulu municipal library team and Siikalatva cultural affairs team.

The objective of the website was to bring the materials and collections of Pentti Haanpää museum for literary researchers and enthusiasts. As a technical goal for the website was to create a responsive website which would also be easy to maintain.

The website was created by using the WordPress content management system. The site was created by only using free themes and plugins of WordPress. WordPress was found to be the best solution considering the maintenance and management of the website.

Every member of the two teams working in Pentti Haanpää project were happy about the results of the WordPress website. Most of the materials that were originally designed to be on the website were found on the site. Only the recordings were left out because they had to be put in the national digital archive.

Due to the free WordPress themes and plugins, some elements of the appearance could not be implemented on the website because of their limitations of properties. Among the teams, it was considered to purchase the necessary themes and plugins for the WordPress. Purchased versions of the themes and plugins would be useful for maintaining and managing the website.
