The objective of this thesis was to create a training event for Ylivieskan Urheilusukeltajat ry. The purpose of the event was to teach and support participants about giving first-aid in scuba diving accident situations. There was a clear need for this thesis. Ylivieskan Urheilusukeltajat ry asked us to organize an event around this theme. It is very important to train the skills of first-aid, especially in question this kind of hobby.

The most important topic of our thesis was organizing a training event for the scuba divers of Ylivieskan Urheilusukeltajat ry. At the beginning of the event some theory about scuba diving accidents and the first-aid in those accidents was presented. After that was the portion for practicing first-aid with our assistance. This portion included the examination of unconscious diver by ABCDE-protocol, resuscitation, mask bellows ventilation and training the technique of giving oxygen. One of our personal goals was also to learn project working.

As per the feedback we received the training event was successful and there was a real need for it. The participants were satisfied. We were asked to give this training occasion again later. The club of Ylivieskan Urheilusukeltajat ry is able to use our training material in their own education events.
