Abstract

Tutkielmia oppijankielestä III (Studies on learner language III) is an addition to the series of two previous publications from the Department of Finnish Language, University of Oulu, titled Tutkielmia oppijankielestä (Studies on learner language) (2000) and Tutkielmia oppijankielestä II (Studies on learner language II) (2002).

The articles in this publication are based on pro gradu theses on Finnish as a second and foreign language (S2). They focus on the communication strategies used by the learners of Finnish, the teaching and learning of spoken Finnish, the learning of the structure and lexicon of Finnish, and the order of teaching in textbooks. The articles have been reviewed by experts in the field, and edited and improved based on their recommendations.

The last section of the book contains a historical review of the development of Finnish as a second and foreign language as a subject in the university of Oulu and a list of the S2 student assignments.
