Henkilöstön kehittämissuunnitelma : yksityinen sosiaaliala

The thesis was commissioned by an Oulu based company which operates in the private social sector. The purpose of this thesis is to establish the current state of the employees training focus-ing on the part exceeding legislational minimum and to assess whether value based leadership has a viable ground in the company. The author has conducted a study in order to find out the core values of the company and to determine the state of the recruitment process.

Framework of the thesis includes target company, field of business, the legislation considering employee education following with value theory, value based leadership and the theory of its practical implementation. In the research part the author examines qualitative research, analyses the results, make conclusions and suggests improvements.

The thesis was conducted as a qualitative research. Method of survey was half constructed theme interview in which the author interviewed three persons from the target company. The survey was conducted 05.05-06.05.2016 and it was recorder for the purpose of transcription.

The study concludes that the company has a common value base and it is applied in the cus-tomer service but does not guide the operations of the company as a whole. The company val-ues have been defined by the entrepreneur without including the employees. Furthermore the study reviled that the company has used only one or two recruitment methods and recruitment has not been systematically organized.

Suggestions for further measures are to implement the value process introduced in the frame-work of the thesis in which all the members of the company work force are included in determin-ing the core values of the company. In addition the values should guide all functions of the com-pany, not just the customer work and the actual implementation of the values should be meas-ured.
