Opticians have been able to educate themselves to become contact lens fitting specialists. The Ethical Council of Optics published 2014 the Good Contact Lens Fitting Practice recommendation which gives guides to opticians. Our study was influenced by Rikkonen (2015) where various documentation habits in contact lens fitting are discovered. According to the law client has the right to get documents that includes information about him.

The aim of this study was to describe faults which have an impact on rich documentation. With questionnaire and interview we attempted to find out how to improve incorrect habits.

The study was separated into two parts, a questionnaire and an interview. This study used qualitative methods and it was accomplished by using an open questionnaire. After analyzing the questionnaire, we planned an accurate interview which was based on answers from the questionnaire.

The main results of our study showed difficulties filling and managing client record systems. Findings reveal that there was need for education about consistent documentation and client record system.

According to the results our study can be used as arranging training events for opticians. Learning would be more effective when opticians take part in innovative workshops.
