The theme for this thesis was chosen, because it was needed to have some consolidation for our business idea, which concerns programme service output for the tourists in Hailuoto. This kind of operation requires networking with various kinds of local entrepreneurs. Therefore it was necessary to examine the present condition of Hailuoto’s economic life, especially about tourism. Thesis was made during spring 2010 to spring 2011. The objective of this work was to find out some innovating and alternative possibilities to develop Hailuoto’s economic life, especially tourism sector. Developing tourism is one of Hailuoto’s municipal strategies, furthermore we are about to set up our own business offering programme services. Material for this thesis was collected by telephone interviews, email messages, articles and from the internet homepages and an inquiry for Hailuoto’s visitors commissioned by Hailuoto municipality 2008-2009 was used as well. The existing material forms the framework and bases for assessing some developing ideas and innovations. Operators and local entrepreneurs were consulted about the practical implementation of the ideas. As a result it can be concluded that services on the tourism field are possible to develop to correspond the current state of demands by developing and increasing co-operation and networking of entrepreneurs.
