The aim of our thesis is to describe the integration support of multicultural children in early child-hood education. Our research task is to find out how multicultural children's integration is sup-ported in the kindergarten.

Our research is a qualitative study and the data was compiled with themed interviews in two kindergartens in Oulu. The themes are based on our theoretical framework which consists of multi-cultural children in early childhood education, the integration support and multicultural educational partnership. We analysed the interviews using the content analysis.

The integration support of the multicultural children is done in everyday life of the kindergarten which includes playing, eating, dressing, teaching sessions etc. Integration is seen as learning the Finnish language and culture. The support from the peer group was seen important in the integration. Learning Finnish language is the most important thing of the integration process into Finnish society. The multicultural educational partnership was seen complicated sometimes but usually it was seen positively. Supporting the integration of the child's family was not seen as the responsibility of the kindergarten.
