The goal of this thesis was to implement user interface features from mobile touch screen devices to Mypose device. Mypose device consists of large touch screen (42 tuumaa) and a camera. Mypose enables users to take pictures, edit them and share them to social media. The implemented features had to measure up to modern standards and enhance the usability of Mypose device. Another goal was to find problems when implementing features from mobile to large touch screen.

Work started by investigating common ways to define the modern touch screen user interface and its challenges. Research was done by reading previous thesis works and literature from various authors. Once the research was done the aim shifted towards finding suitable ui elements from mobile devices available at the time. Five suitable features were selected and made to function as part of Mypose application. Work was done by using Scrum-ban project management system to keep the workflow as streamlined and fast as possible.

As a result completely new image gallery component was created and added to Mypose application. Touch screen keyboard usability was improved with use enhancing animation which display the written word on top of the virtual keyboard and throws the pressed letters in it.

In future image gallery can be improved by making it to download images from all Mypose devices around the world. This would make the Mypose device more interesting to the end user and possibly enhance the marketing potential of the device.

Touch screen keyboard usability could be enhanced even further by displaying a whole sentence instead of one word on top of the keyboard. This would make spellchecking possible and reduce the typing mistakes done by the user even more.
