The objective of this thesis is to get familiarized with WordPress and implement an eCommerce site with it. Topic for the thesis was commissioned by Hope Awesome which is a jewelry manufacturer run by a private person. Hope Awe-some manufactures different kind of jewelries, for example necklaces, brace-lets and ear-rings. The eCommerce site is built for selling jewelries manufac-tured by Hope Awesome.

The eCommerce site was implemented with WordPress since after site is fin-ished maintenance of the site is going to be done by owner of Hope Awesome and WordPress offers easy use for beginners and amount of the jewelries on for sale is going to stay low at the beginning. WordPress also offers many fea-tures for free which keeps costs low. In the thesis I get acquainted with few eCommerce plugins for WordPress and I implement working eCommerce site within the criteria’s.

As a result of the work was implemented fully working and easily updateable eCommerce site, which is simple and Finnish. I also implemented small search engine optimization for the site which improves sites visibility in search engines. One possible topic for further study could be adding more common online payment methods, because nowadays usually every eCommerce site has one and it allows payments to be made faster.
