The purpose of this thesis was to study large-scale solar photovoltaic power plant in Malaysia. The main objective of this work was to compare two different inverter types in proposed project location, central and string inverter. For this comparison, SMA central inverter and Huawei string inverter were selected, and the performance of each solution was analysed, and results were compared. The results of the thesis are to give a picture of two different inverter solutions, as well as the advantages and disadvantages to consider.
