The case organization was Pohjois-Karjalan Kirjapaino Plc, which is printing and media company. The subject of this thesis came from their needs. They needed an updated orientation plan. I served there as an intern during the Spring and Summer of 2017. During this term, I was able to learn about the company's needs as well as different ways to implement the orientation plan.

The aim of this thesis is to update the orientation plan and make it easy to use. They can use this orientation plan for new employees orientation and with old employees too if they need more orientation. The new orientation plan will be available online where all employees can have access. I wanted to create an orientation process that is transparently-clear for all current employees when familiarizing with future employees.

The thesis theory base is focusing towards the orientation as a concept and a process. The sources I have looked towards are human resources management-related literature, online resources and legislation sources. As a main source, I used the Kupias’s and Peltola’s written book named as “Perehdyttämisen pelikentällä”.

In the future, the orientation plan will need to be updated as needed. By using user experience and feedback, it can be developed into better match organization’s current needs. The orientation plan should also maintain and update if any changes are made to the contents of the orientations structure.
