This thesis is the product of my work experience at NOKIA, where I have had a full-time position since the 14th of March 2022. I started at this position when I was in my third year of the Infor-mation Technology degree at the OAMK.

Currently I am involved with feature verification testing regarding 5Mhz features, the previous release cycle included hardware verification of a new baseband unit. The test cases that were designed for this project included capacity target verification and the creation of a new traffic model on the CUS simulator platform.

The period in which the diary of the thesis is written is during a switch between the release cy-cles. During which the previous feature testing results are documented and the test cases are integrated into the continuous automated regression testing environment.

The new feature cases that are starting have been prepared beforehand, through meetings and discussions with my team members and the team’s technical lead. After which the test case execution starts, with the goal to verify the performance of the base station with the activation of a feature that enables the 8-HARQ process on CAT-M UEs on 5Mhz bandwidth cells. This verifi-cation is done by using a simulated core network, together with simulated UEs through the CUS simulator platform. The specialists involved are from a multitude of different teams within NOKIA, depending on issues and software problems that can occur and will have to be remedied through either software corrections re-defining test case parameters.

The work diary together with the chapters covering the different types of test cases and theory would give the reader a snapshot of the type of work and projects I have been involved with with-in the PET team at NOKIA.
