The aim of this thesis was to prepare material for introduction training and to develop the introduction process of the client company Blic Oy. The author was working for the client company when the discussions showed a need to produce an introduction training file for the company. The topic was discussed and finally decided to produce a comprehensive guide for a new employee, a guide for the introduction process and introduction evaluation form.

The thesis was commissioned by Blic Oy. Blic is a Finnish consultant agency specialized in advocacy, established in 2014. In the autumn of 2017, the company has a total of 13 employees, two of whom work at the Brussels office and the rest at the Helsinki office.

The theoretical part of the thesis deals with orientation through different sources and various theories. The most important areas of the theoretical foundation are motivation and engagement, both of which are closely linked to induction. The report deals with the theory of orientation, its aims and challenges, legislation, Maslow's needs hierarchy, Herzberg's motivational theory, and engagement.

The client company did not have any existing material for the guidebooks, so the information for the product was collected through interviews and participatory observation. The thesis product is a comprehensive guide that provides the new employee with all the information they need about employment, salary, all the systems used, organization and common practices. It aims to ensure the quality of the introduction process. Implementation practices were developed by streamlining the process and creating a separate guide for the supervisors, who are responsible for the introduction, with a clear division of responsibilities. The evaluation form for monitoring the quality of introduction serves as a basis for the continuous development of introduction process.

This thesis does not include the full guidebooks, because they contain sensitive information about the client company and its operations. Thesis includes the cover and the continents of the new employee guidebook, to give insight to the product of the thesis.
